If you can customize a motorcycle, then why not a bicycle? Challenge accepted.
Super73 brought its top bike – the Super73 RX – over to our Workshop in Milan. There was just one stipulation from them… "You have to turn it into your dream bike!"
Back when we were kids, growing up in Milan, Saltafoss were the model of bikes we rode with our friends out in the courtyard, their design is so unique that it’s remained stuck in our minds since. Straight away we knew what we had to do, and given certain geometric similarities, the Super73 RX was the perfect starting point.
As they come, straight out of the factory, the RX is full of features and top-quality details that we wouldn’t want to miss out on in a dream bike. Things like…
- Inverted coil-spring forks with air assist in front and out back, coil-over piggyback mono-shock with a fully adjustable suspension system.
- 250-watt continuous rated power motor.
- A powerful brake system with Tektro 4-piston forged aluminum caliper. Front rotor is 203mm while the rear is 180mm.
To really be true to our vision, we needed to extend the seat and there had to be a sissy bar. The long, broad seat was handmade, and we had a logo embroidered to the rear. Icing on the cake was the hand-sewn flag flown on the sissy bar. We relocated the batteries to make space.
When it came to the colours, we knew we had to remain period correct, choosing an 80’s light blue as our base shade, we combined this with a dark military olive for the frame and added a smattering of red for the details to complete the project.
Our BMX friends were super excited to try the Deus Super Saltafoss at the pump track in Lainate. They got to test it along with one of the original Saltafoss’s.

Se si può customizzare una motocicletta, perché non fare lo stesso con una bicicletta? Abbiamo subito accettato la sfida.
Super73 ci ha lasciato il suo modello top di gamma – la Super73 RX – al Deus Workshop di Milano dandoci una sola missione: Fatene la bicicletta dei vostri sogni.
L’ispirazione ci arrivata velocemente – Le Saltafoss erano le biciclette che usavamo per scorrazzare liberi in campagna con gli amici e avevano un design così unico e particolare che ci è sempre rimasto in mente fin da allora. Dunque, eravamo sicuri di cosa saremmo andati a creare e la RX era la base di partenza perfetta.
Il modello RX ha già di gamma molti dettagli e accessori che non potevano mancare nel nostro progetto:
- Forcelle rovesciate regolabili e mono posteriore con vaschetta separata, completamente regolabili
- Motore da 250 watt
- Un sistema frenante con 4 pistonicini e pinze in alluminio con rotore da 203 x 180mm
Abbiamo quindi iniziato a lavorare dalla scelta dei colori, patendo con un azzurro dal sapore anni 80 come dominante, verde oliva per il telaio e una particolare tonalità di rosso per i dettagli.
Nel nostro progetto era indispensabile il caratteristico backloop che abbiamo aggiunto al telaio, corredato con la sua immancabile bandierina. A completare il lavoro è stata poi una lunga e spessa sella fatta a mano con logo ricamato.
I nostri amici di BMX hanno poi avuto la fortuna di divertirsi sulla Pump Track di Lainate girando con la nostra Deus Super Saltafoss fianco a fianco ad una Saltafoss originale.
