Lonigo: over 50 entrants at the second race of Dust & Fun III, the Italian Flat Track trophy

Extremely high temperatures awaiting the more than 50 children, women and men who registered for the second race of the Flat Track trophy held under the auspices of the Italian Motorcycle Federation. Among them, many international riders drove all the way to Lonigo to join the Dust&Fun Flat Track Trophy.

The race event took place on June 29-30 at the "Santa Marina Speedway" track. Shout out to the Lonigo Moto Club staff who did a great job to have the track ready to race.

Heats went off starting at 7 p.m. and, luckily, the audience did not witness any real accidents, except for a couple of slips.

Pilots were divided into eight categories: of these, five include different types of bikes, one is reserved for women and two are for younger riders.

Lonigo stage also saw the extraordinary participation in the Thunderbikes classes of the outstanding participation of special guest Jacopo Monti, a Flat Track Italian legend who won six national, two European and one British champion titles.

In Modern there was no shortage of twists and turns as usual: Michele Guerra (Moto Club Ravenna) took the top step of the podium, followed by Cristian Barosi (Moto Club Misano) and third place for Carlo Pettinato (Moto Club Monselice).

Simone Zani (Moto Club Ravenna) won the Thunderbikes class, with Nico Sorbo (Moto Club San Marino) in second place followed by Alessandro Rossi (Moto Club Ditraverso). Thunderbikes featured the highest number of entrants due to the participation of several international riders.

The Hooligan and Vintage categories were merged: as for the Vintage, Michel Colaizzi (Moto Club FSM) ranked first and second Alessandro Rossi (Moto Club Ditraverso); Marco Barbati (Moto Club Ravenna) won the Hooligan followed by Nico Sorbo (Moto Club San Marino).

Worth of mention is the family composed of Michele Guerra, Valentina Taboni and Christian Poli, taking home several titles. Congratulations!

We would like to thank once again Moto Club Lonigo for the hospitality and FMI for organization aspects.

Please remember that the third race event is taking place next Sunday July 7 in Terenzano (UD) at the Moto Club Olimpia track.
