How do you like your Enduro? Apparently in Java they serve it up hot!
The Ampera Spicy Enduro or ASE 2022 is the brainchild of a loose group of young people who drink coffee together that fly under the auspicious banner of “People Of Worth” or the POW Organisation.
What started life as an idea to get together for a fun run soon took on a little seriousness, well not entirely, but they did collaborate with the IMI for the installation of transponders for all participants. So that’s pretty serious in our eyes.
(Indonesian Motorcycle Association or in Bahasa, Ikatan Motor Indonesia. If you are wondering, over here in Indonesia, motor refers to bikes while mobil refers to cars)
ASE 2022 was their inaugural event, they merrily married enduro racing with a weekends camping, live music belted out on the stage by local bands, a plethora of vintage bikes and cars and of course food and drink. The last very important after a day on the track. Important every day in fact.
The underlying idea was to get all the likeminded they could, out of the surrounding cities and together on the top of a beautiful hill of three sixty degree vistas in the Ciamis region of West Java, which fortuitously has an enduro track planted smack bang on it, and race. I’d say they succeeded.
Sandi Maulana likes his Enduro any way he can get it, and so of course he went. The three hundred kilometer journey from home to track, which in Indonesia equates to about seven hours in the saddle, didn’t receive more than a moment’s thought, after all, this was exactly the type of event he’d been prepping for in the preceding months of practice.
They arrived, Sandi and his friends, rolling slowly up the hill, the track and campsite came into view. It’s a good feeling that. Arriving I mean. They were sore, worn and tired. They quickly picked out a plot to pitch the tent and got busy to get things done, food sorted, greetings made and of course rest for the races tomorrow.
Opening the tent flap first thing and looking past the confusion of tents and bikes that had continued to assemble around his camp until late into the night, Sandi was immediately taken by the location. A hill amongst many stretching away to the horizon, as far as the eye can see. Terrain unfit for cultivation due to heavy undulation. You cannot help but think that it really is a ridiculously beautiful piece of unspoiled paradise to hold an Enduro race in.
People made ready as there was an early start planned. Food first and then everyone’s attention turned to their bikes. A once over with tweaking and adjusting. Everything needed to be right, there is no time later for that.
Thus, began a day of intermittent racing followed by rest. Jumping up and riding. Then back into the shade to relax. Heats came and went everyone performed like a champion but there could only be one and today it just wasn’t to be Sandi’s day.

Bagaimana kamu menyukai Enduro mu? Rupanya di Jawa Barat mereka menyajikannya panas-panas! Ampera Spicy Enduro atau ASE 2022 adalah gagasan dari sekelompok anak muda yang minum kopi bersama dan terbang di bawah bendera keberuntungan “People Of Worth” atau Organisasi POW.
Yang awalnya hanyalah sebuah ide untuk berkumpul dan bersenang-senang ternyata berubah menjadi sedikit serius, yah tidak sepenuhnya, tetapi mereka berkolaborasi dengan IMI untuk pemasangan transponder bagi semua peserta. Jadi itu cukup serius di mata kita.

ASE 2022 adalah acara perdana mereka, balapan enduro dan berkemah di akhir pekan, live music oleh band-band lokal, pameran sepeda motor besar dan beberapa mobil antik dan tentu saja makanan dan minuman. Point ini paling penting tentunya, setelah seharian di lajur balap pasti menguras energi.
Ide dasarnya adalah untuk mendapatkan semua yang mereka bisa, keluar dari kota-kota sekitarnya, bersama-sama di atas bukit yang indah dengan pemandangan tiga enam puluh derajat di wilayah Ciamis, Jawa Barat, yang kebetulan memiliki trek enduro yang dibangun diatas bukit. Hanya satu kata yang bisa mewakilkan. Pas.
Sandi Maulana menyukai Enduro-nya dengan cara apa pun yang dia bisa, dan tentu saja Sandi ikutan tanpa perlu banyak berpikir ini-itu. Perjalanan tiga ratus kilometer dari rumah ke trek, yang di Indonesia setara dengan sekitar tujuh jam di perjalanan, lagipula, Sandi sudah dengan persiapan yang matang untuk acara ini.
Ketika Sandi dan teman-temannya tiba di atas bukit, trek dan area perkemahan langsung terlihat dan mereka merasa sangat baik meskipun lelah perjalanan cukup yahh.. melelahkan. Tanpa membuang waktu, mereka langsung berbaur, mendirikan tenda, makan kemudian beristirahat untuk persiapan balapan besok.
Keesokan pagi nya, Sandi membuka tenda dan melihat sekitar. Sedikit kebingungan karena area kamping ternyata lebih penuh dari yang terakhir dia ingat sebelum tidur. Setelah sedikit persiapan, Sandi langsung menuju ke lokasi, bukit menawan yang terbentang diantara cakrawala. Medan nya bergelombang berat jadi tidak cocok untuk pertanian. Kalau kalian melihatnya langsung, kalian akan merasa bahwa ini adalah surga yang belum terjamah dan trek balapan Enduro paling Indah, setidaknya untuk saat ini.
Tidak hanya Sandi yang bersiap-siap, semua peserta bisa dibilang bergegas. Sarapan sudah pasti, sedikit berbenah, memastikan , mengatur dan menyesuaikan mesin mereka dalam kondisi prima.
Jadi, dimulailah hari balap intermiten secara resmi. Banyak aktivitas terjadi disana selain tancap gas, lompatan lompatan kagum juga pastinya istirahat. Banyak mesin panas disini dan semua orang tampil seolah mereka adalah juaranya. Secara keseluruhan hari ini semua orang tampil maksimal, termasuk Sandi meskipun kali ini Sandi tidak menjadi pemeran utama nya.
Tapi jangan khawatir. ATT sebentar lagi. Nantikan dari Java Enduro lainnya!
